12happy vs UptimeRobot

100 monitors every 30 seconds. $12, not $35.

UptimeRobot puts 30-second checks on its Team plan at $35 a month. 12happy Pro gives you the same 100 monitors at the same speed for $12, and adds smart monitors that check whether your site actually works.

Why people switch

  1. 01

    A third of the price

Pro covers 100 monitors checked every 30 seconds for $12 a month, billed yearly. UptimeRobot charges $35 for the same on Team, and $41 billed monthly.

  2. 02

    Smart monitors on every plan

UptimeRobot checks that the server answered, or that a keyword you chose is on the page. A smart monitor works out what to check from the URL alone. Free includes one, and Pro includes ten.

  3. 03

A free plan you can use for work

Free covers 50 monitors and allows commercial use, with Slack alerts included. UptimeRobot pitches its free plan at hobby and non-profit projects, and Slack starts on its paid plans.

  4. 04

See it work before you sign up

Paste a URL and 12happy checks it on the spot. You get a real result before we ask for an email.

When UptimeRobot is the better fit

  • You need checks from more than two regions. UptimeRobot runs four.
  • You rely on UDP or API assertion monitors, or on voice-call alerts.
  • You watch fewer than 10 sites and only need a basic up/down check. Solo at $9 does that well.

Moving over

  1. Step 1

    Add your most important sites

Paste each URL. Every one is checked on the spot, so you see results before you commit to anything.

  2. Step 2

    Run both side by side

Keep UptimeRobot running for a week. If both agree on every outage, you have your answer. If they don't, you've learned which one to trust.

  3. Step 3

    Move alerts, then cancel

Point your alert channels and status page at 12happy, then cancel UptimeRobot once you're happy. Nothing on our side depends on the order.

Questions

Can I import my monitors from UptimeRobot?

Not automatically yet. Adding a monitor takes one URL, so moving a list by hand is quick. An importer that reads your UptimeRobot account is on the way.

What's the difference between a monitor and a smart monitor?

A monitor checks that your server answered. A smart monitor works out how to watch your site from the URL, and checks that the page is actually working. Plans include both.

Do I have to cancel UptimeRobot first?

No. We'd suggest running both for a week, then cancelling whichever you trust less.

Paste a URL. See for yourself.

No account needed for the first check.
